About Vitalize Wales

Vitalize Wales is run by professional therapist Emma Cane. It is a small sports and holistic therapy business based in Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan.  It was established in 2019 from the merger of Equilibrium Holistics (our previous therapy clinic) and Bioaroma Wales (our natural products side of the business).

Providing bespoke client centred therapies our clients include sports people from all levels of competition and non sports people looking for support with day to day ailments, relaxation and general wellbeing.

About Emma

As a sports and holistic therapist, Emma is qualified in a range of therapies suitable for everyone from babies to older people. Initially qualifying in Sports Massage (Level 4) at UWIC in 2007, Emma has continually sought to widen her knowledge with more specialised training such as Strapping and Taping, as well as undertaking specialist training for common problem areas involving the shoulders, neck and lower back.

Recognising that every client presents and reacts differently, Emma has found a more holistic approach usually works best for her clients. In 2011, she built on her qualifications even further with the addition of Clinical Reflexology and Reiki to her skillset. With a commitment to delivering the most appropriate therapies tailored to her clients, Emma has also undertaken further training in soft cupping, holistic facials, facial cupping, pregnancy massage and Indian Head Massage.

Emma passionately believes that Sports Massage can benefit everyone. She has worked with a variety of professional and keen amateur sports people across a number of disciplines including runners, cyclists, swimmers, golfers, fencers, rugby players and footballers and since 2015 she has been supporting the FAW providing massage services to the match officials at Wales International football games.

The birth of her first child in 2012 inspired Emma to become a trainer in baby massage and baby reflexology, opening up the benefits of these wonderful therapies to the smallest members of society. These are also fantastic for helping parents and care givers to enhance that special bond with their baby.

More recently, Emma linked together the two core pillars of her training (Sports Massage and Reflexology).  In 2016, she trained in a new dedicated Sports Reflexology. This treatment is ideal for injuries (both acute and chronic) and chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, and can be used immediately after sustaining an injury when, traditionally, many other therapies cannot.

In recent years Emma has gone back to her sports therapies roots and undertaken further training in strapping and taping/ kinesiology taping to further support her clients.  Her latest training in soft cupping massage has added a further therapy dimension to both her sports and holistic therapies.

The introduction of the Hydrotherm massage system into the clinic in Autumn 2020 offered a new dimension to treatments. Hydrotherm offers the evolution of massage training and delivery and as someone always looking to develop and improve it was the perfect fit for Emma and the clinic.

Emma uses only 100% natural products in her treatments, sourced directly from Crete.

Emma is a member of, and the Welsh representative for, the UK Association of Physical & Natural Therapists (APNT), and a member of the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA) and is fully insured with Holistic Insurance Services.
